House Resolution 55
A RESOLUTION COMMENDING THE MANY YEARS OF OUTSTANDING SERVICE OF REPRESENTATIVE ALFRED L. WALKER, JR., AS A MEMBER OF THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES.
WHEREAS, Representative Alfred L. Walker, Jr., of Columbus, Mississippi, has served as a member of the House of Representatives since 1988; and
WHEREAS, Representative Walker has ably and effectively represented the people of House District 41, which includes parts of Clay and Lowndes Counties, for the past 12 years; and
WHEREAS, Representative Walker, currently serving as Chairman of the Joint Committee on State Libraries, also serves on the Universities and Colleges, Education, Ethics and Ways and Means Committees; and
WHEREAS, an active member of his community, Representative Walker is a member of the Voters League, the NAACP, the Columbus Air Force Community Council, the Science and Technology Commission, the Elk's Lodge, the Officer's Club and serves on the Advisory Board for Mississippi Prepaid Affordable College Tuition (MPACT) Program; and
WHEREAS, Representative Walker has been lovingly supported in all his endeavors by his beautiful wife, the former Johnnie Louise Edmond; his children, Panesha Gale Walker Johnson and Alfred L. Walker III; and grandchildren, April, Adrian, LaTasha, Ashley and Yanisha; and
WHEREAS, Representative Walker is a respected and well-liked member of the House of Representatives and has worked hard to serve the best interest of his constituents of Lowndes and Clay Counties:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend and express our deep appreciation to Representative Alfred L. Walker, Jr., for his dedicated service to the House of Representatives and extend to him our heartiest wishes for continued success in all his future endeavors.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Representative Alfred Walker and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
